Course overview
This talk explores the planning of Future Talks Sites in Cape Town and Johannesburg with second-year Greenside Design Center students. Panellists—each engaged in aspects of the space or in collaboration with the school—will share insights on planning, pedagogy, and how the Future Talks environment has shaped their own practices. The discussion itself will unfold within the built space, making the room part of the conversation.

Curator, Artist & Design Educator, Greenside Design Center
Ilze Wessels holds a Masters in Architecture from the University of Pretoria and practices as a Curator, Artist and Educator exploring the context of
collaboration in Practice and Pedagogy and runs her own practice ‘Is Sound Architectures’ exploring the ‘gravitational’ unit of Sound in the Built

Bongisa Msutu

I am a black community- and collaboration-driven designer, design educator and researcher – who dabbles a little in visual arts. In my almost two decades of experience
as an architectural lighting designer, I’ve worked on both local and international projects. Armed with an undergrad in interior architecture (UP), a postgrad in Anthropology
(UNISA) and Heritage (Wits) – both grounded in architecture and space – I have taught spatial design at a number of institutions, including the University

Ntsako Nkuna
Artist
Ntsako Nkuna Is visual artist born and based in Kempton Park, she holds a BA(Hons)in Fine Art from the University of Witwatersrand.
Her multidisciplinary practice consists of screen-printed 3D renders and sculptural forms that are reminiscent of Structural elements in domestic life. Her artistic journey has been focused on understanding the potential of our built environment to influences and reinforces cognitive behaviour.
